TORPOR Snite Museum, Notre Dame University. South Bend IN, 2013
An installation of hand blown and sculpted glass by California artist, Jaime Guerrero. The artist chose the title, Torpor, in relation to the periodic hibernation pattern of various species that enables them to survive. Guerrero’s work explores the metaphor of this energy saving inactivity and subsequent awakening to comment on culture, identity, economics, agriculture and the artist’s craft in today’s society.
